*Butterfly Pea (Centresema pubescens)*
Akan/Twi name is called *Annase trumu homa.*

Centro is a perennial herb that can reach a height of 45 cm (17.5 in). The root system can reach up to 30 cm in depth, frequently in association with Rhizobium, nitrogen-fixing bacteria.Stems grow and branch rapidly, producing a dense mass of branches and leaves on the soil. Stems do not become woody until about 18 months after planting. Leaves are trifoliate, with elliptical leaflets approximately 4 cm × 3.5 cm (1.6 in × 1.4 in), dark-green and glabrous above but whitish and densely tomentose below. Flowers are generally pale violet with darker violet veins, born in axillary racemes. Fruit is a flat, long, dark brown pod 7.5–15 cm (3.0–5.9 in) long, containing up to 20 seeds. Seeds are spherical, about 4–mm (0.16–inches) in diameter, dark brown when ripe.
Clitoria- used traditionally to mainly sexual ailments like infertility and gonorrhoea, to control menstrual discharge.
*Centresema pubescens/ Clitoria ternatea* flowers known in English as butterfly pea and in our local language it called
*Annase trumu homa.*
The flower are of five colours.
The flowers of this vine have the shape of human female genitals hence the Latin of the genus "clitoria "from "clitoris ",the root of this flower are used traditionally to treat mainly sexual ailments like infertility and gonorrhoea to control menstrual discharge.
The white clitoria root juice if taken 3 tablespoon full twice daily for one week can cure abnormal vaginal discharge and vaginal infection permanently.
The juice of the root of the blue clitoria if taken with soya milk for 3 day to 1 week period after menstrual discharge help in obtaining pregnancy for women suffering from infertility.
The blue clitoria root juice if inhaled through nose can cure headache relief from dizziness or spinning.
The seed of this flower are used for Purgative purposes treatment of the throat disease and cough treatment.
